The MPA (Materials Testing Institute) test is a comprehensive material test of license plates by an independent material testing facility and certification body.
Are the license plates blanks compliant with the requirements of DIN 74069? Are they weather-resistant and robust? To determine this, the blanks are thoroughly tested in various obligatory test procedures. Very important: Without passing the MPA test, you are not allowed to offer and sell license plates. This is the only way you can obtain a DIN CERTCO registration number that allows you to emboss license plates and place them on the market.
The DIN CERTCO registration number is necessary if license plates are to be registered and all associated services are to be offered - you can't do without it! After passing the MPA test, you will receive the corresponding registration number from DIN CERTCO and you can officially work as a sign embosser. A separate assigned registration number is required for each production facility. The registration number is valid for 30 months and must be re-applied for by the certificate holder (i.e. you) before the certificate expires and a new test must be carried out by a neutral test centre. The test certificate is again submitted to DIN CERTCO and you receive a new certificate.
You will receive the DIN stamp (test and inspection mark) from us after passing the MPA test. It is attached to the front of each license plates by means of the DIN hand press - so you can be sure that the license plates meets all the necessary requirements.
